Cappuccino (from Italian cappuccino - capuchin) is a coffee drink of Italian cuisine based on espresso with the addition of heated foamed milk. The Italian form of the name of the drink (cappuccino) appears only in the 20th century. In the 19th century, the padre invented the first machine for making cappuccino, where water was heated in one compartment and steam was produced, and the steam went through a tube to the second compartment, where milk was frothed. One shot of espresso is poured from the coffee machine, after which the heated and steamed milk is poured into the cup. Sometimes, when pouring milk into espresso, baristas use special movements to create a pattern on the surface of the drink - this technique is called latte art. The quality of the espresso, the temperature of the milk, its consistency and proportions are very important to obtain a good cappuccino.
